FAQ

  • Is the Partner Force Charity Match a non-profit?

The Partner Force Charity Match is not a non-profit. It is (and always has been) an annual event. In the first two years, all funds went directly to the charities that were supported by this event. We have since shifted to supporting only one 501(c)(3) each year. All funds that are raised are donated to these organizations.

  • What happens with the match fees, money raised by the auction, and donations from sponsors and individuals?

100% of the match fees and money raised from the auction items go directly to the 501(c)(3) selected for that year. All sponsors and individuals that make a monetary donation make their donation directly to the 501(c)(3) we are supporting. All of these sources contribute to our total raised each year. That money is then used to help members of the Special Forces community and/or their families.

  • Is this a 2 or 3 gun event?

No. The PFCM is a carbine only match. Competitors are welcome to bring any kind of carbine (PCC, AR-15, SCAR, AK47, SBR, etc). The only exception is anything that is .22 caliber.
PCC will be scored as MINOR.
Centerfire carbines (AR, AK, SCAR, etc.) will be scored as MAJOR.

  • What are the stages like?

The PFCM features stages which are modeled after USPSA. If you are unfamiliar with what a USPSA stage looks like, you can check out a video of one being shot here.

  • What is the farthest distance competitors will have to shoot from?

Targets will be positioned no further than 25 meters away. We have always intended this to be a match where competitors don’t feel like they need specific gear or equipment on their rifle in order to participate.

  • How many stages will there be?

There are 4 stages for the match. The goal is to keep the whole event fun and fast. As one competitor put it one year, “shooting took a backseat to the family and friends vibe.” Our goal is to make sure the match is only PART of the event - not the whole thing.

  • Can competitors shoot the match more than once?

Definitely. We have many competitors who opt to run the match multiple times. Often times this is because they want to shoot it with different rifles, but that is not a requirement. If you do decide to shoot it multiple times, you will need to register for each run.

  • Is wearing military "kit" a requirement? Or will it take time off my over all time?

Not at all. Competitors are welcome to wear kit if they would like, but it is in no way a requirement. Wearing kit will also not take time off your over all time or time on any of the stages.

  • What kind of gear will competitors need?

A carbine rifle (shooters choice), 2 magazines, and a way to store them. Chamber flags are also recommended, however we will have them on hand should you need one. Round count will be announced on the registration.

  • Will the match still take place if there is rain?

We shoot rain or shine! Just ask our competitors from the inaugural match…

With that being said, if there is some kind of a major weather event (hurricane, tornado, etc), we will look at postposing the event. All updates and decisions regarding weather and postponements will be communicated.

  • Can competitors request specific squads?

Yes! A link to squadding will be sent to you once your registration has been approved. Competitors will also have the option to register groups and create a group code. We do try to ensure the squads are balanced though (this helps match run as efficiently as possible) so if you are planning on shooting with a group of friends and want to ensure you will be on the same squad, please create a group code! This allows us to recognize groups that registered together.

  • Do all competitors get swag bags?

Absolutely! All of our competitors will receive their swag bags on the day of the match when they sign in. Swag bags usually include items like samples from sponsors, stickers, hats, and a competitor shirt. Items change each year.

  • Are spectators allowed at the match?

Yes! Spectators are welcome. However, spectators will be required to sign a waiver upon arrival at the range and will need to have eye and ear protection. Spectators may also participate in the auction.
